Two Leshan LNG-built dual-purpose ships launched
On February 22, at the Qiaogou Wharf in Wutongqiao District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, the first batch of LNG dual-purpose vessels "Youyang 8" and "Youyang 9", built by Sichuan Leshan Qianwei Chuanqian Shipyard, were successfully launched.
It is reported that the two newly launched new energy vessels belong to Sichuan Leshan Hengbang Port Co., Ltd. They have a total length of 66 meters, a total width of 11 meters, a molded depth of 3.8 meters, a standard container load of 84 boxes, and a maximum deadweight of 1,600 tons. Their LNG storage tank volume is 20 cubic meters, with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers. The operational routes cover the Minjiang River, Jinsha River, and the main line of the Yangtze River. Next, the two vessels will undergo inclination tests, mooring tests, and navigation tests.
"With the gradual completion of the Minjiang River port and navigation hub, many dangerous shoals that hinder navigation on the Minjiang River will no longer exist, fundamentally improving the channel conditions, which boosts our confidence. The Minjiang River, this 'golden waterway', is bound to connect to the sea, and we are full of confidence in the future of Leshan's waterway transportation," said Luo Fusheng, General Manager of Sichuan Leshan Hengbang Port Co., Ltd. The company plans to build a total of 8 LNG new energy cargo vessels, with the remaining 6 (including one new energy cargo vessel with a total length of 110 meters and a maximum deadweight of 8,000 tons) to be completed by the end of 2028.
